          Redirecting Children's Behavior Kid's Class

Children who participate in the RCB Kids Course acquire a kid's eye view of Redirecting Children's Behavior Parenting course, smoothing the way towards peaceful, cooperative and respectful families and friendships. In a fun and interactive way kids learn and practice skills through role-playing, skits, games, music, and art projects.

The purpose of the RCB for Kids class is to introduce RCB concepts so that the whole family can be on the same page with RCB vocabulary, cooperation and discipline. RCB for Kids introduces RCB concepts such as win/win conflict resolution, make-ups, natural and logical consequences, appropriate ways to get attention and feel powerful, bullies and much more through interactive role-plays, games, stories, crafts and group conversation. The RCB for Kids is available to children whose parents are recent graduates or current students of the Redirecting Children's Behavior parenting class.

Conflict Resolution
All conflict and resolution policies modeled and implemented during the RCB for Kids class will follow the "Win / Win" format. Students will be coached to express how they feel, state clearly what they want and then listen to all others involved express their feelings and wants as well. The very next step in the process is then to come to a solution that everyone is excited about. Students will also be invited to do "make-ups" as a way to take action and realign their integrity from not following through on an agreement instead of for example simply saying "sorry". As a way to set our students up for success throughout the class we strongly recommend that this "Win / Win" policy be introduced and practiced at home prior to coming to class. With this pro-active step in place students are more likely to experience appropriate behavior as we'll all be speaking the same language. Download a Win/Win cue card here!
